Christmas is my favorite holiday when it comes to holiday decorating. You can never have too many decorations. When it comes to Christmas trees, I have decorated white trees, organic trees with lots of bark, pencil trees, wide and tall green trees. But my favorite tree would have to be one that I decorated this year; and it is so easy, I can’t believe I never did this until now …

LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW …
Flocked Christmas trees are probably the most popular kind of tree. You could say that people, “Flock to get their flocked tree”. 😊 Flocked trees are beautiful, but the holistic side of me won’t buy them or buy the spray to flock them because of the chemicals. But, who am I kidding, there are chemicals in the furniture we sit and lay on. Go figure …
MY INSPIRATION FOR THIS YEAR’S TREE
When you look at the pictures below, it is pretty clear where my inspiration came from in decorating this year’s display trees in my large front window. There isn’t anyone I know who doesn’t love the beauty of snowy evergreen trees.
You can see I opted for a snow-covered floor instead of a tree skirt. The more snow, the better! I absolutely love to bring the outdoors in. The whole organic feel just puts me in my happy place.
HOW I ACCOMPLISHED THE BEST NATURAL LOOKING SNOWY, DECORATED CHRISTMAS TREE …
There are different ways to accomplish a snowy Christmas tree, including using fake, fluffy snow. Since it sticks easily to the branches, you want to be careful how you place the snow on your tree. There is a method to my madness! Row by row, I lifted one section of branches at a time and gently laid a STRETCHED OUT snow covering. Then, I let the branches down. I did this row by row all the way around the tree.
I started the lights at the top of the tree, initially thinking it would be best to wrap them closely to the trunk so the string of lights could glow through the snow. I was so excited to get started, that I forgot to plug the lights in WHILE DECORATING and only after I was about 1/3 the way down the tree, I tested the effect and realized I should have pulled the lights about halfway out onto the branches so it is easier to see the glow. I did take that approach for the remainder of the tree!
I was going to decorate the big tree with just snow but then decided to add a few natural looking picks here and there to add to the organic feel. I decided not to add pine cones to the tree and just added a few large ones to the snowy ground cover. The more you add to the snowy tree, the more you will take away from the natural feel, which is the look and feel I was wanting.
THE OTHER ORGANIC TREES
I thought about making all three trees snowy but decided I wanted a variety of decorated trees on display in front of the large front window. Both of the other trees show a lot of bark, which I absolutely love. Look at how simple, yet beautiful, they turned out.
WHERE I SHOPPED FOR MY TREES AND DECORATIONS
The Snowy Tree
Can you believe I paid only $65 for the largest tree, including the lights, snow, and picks? I bought the 7’ tree for $20 (it is very high quality) at the Frankfort Community Garage Sale Event, the lights totaled $20 at Dollar General, I used 4 bags of snow which I really stretched out (costing $12 at Dollar General), and approximately 10 picks from Dollar Tree for $1.25 each.
The Larger of the Bark Woodsy Trees
The larger of the two bark woodsy trees is decorated with all ornaments from Dollar Tree! I didn’t count the number of ornaments, but some of those ornaments I got “2 for $1.25” and some “6 for $1.25”. The 6 ½ foot tree I bought for $15 at the same Frankfort Community Garage Sale event. I was shocked at how incredibly soft the evergreen is on the branches. They do not cut your hands.
The Smaller of the Bark Woodsy Trees
The smaller of the two bark woodsy trees I kept simple with just a strand of pearls and bird (already had both).
The 6’ Ornament Garlands
The 2 - 6’ large ornament garlands on the snowy ground cover were purchased at a Dollar Tree Plus store for $5.00 each. They are so nice and shockingly only $5.00.
The Snowy Ground Cover and Glass Presents
The snowy ground cover was used in place of a tree skirt, and quite frankly, nothing can accomplish a more cozy, organic feel to the ground cover than snow. Make sure to really stretch it out to save from going through a bunch of snow bags. The beautiful, elegant glass block presents were made and given to me many years ago by my mom.
CONCLUSION
I hope my pictures and story inspire you to think outside the box and entertain the idea of changing up your Christmas décor this year by going ‘organic and natural’. The little money I spent to accomplish this cozy, beautiful look is astounding! I will be including more Christmas decoration pics in my home in upcoming posts. Stay tuned!
